Cloud Services for dMix128

dMix Cloud

Continuous Monitoring • Instant Alerts • Install-Ready Intelligence

dMix Cloud is the companion service for the dMix128 digital mixer platform. It provides secure, real-time monitoring, device health analytics, and automated email alerts for integrators, venues, touring companies and service organisations — turning every dMix system into a cloud-connected, proactively managed asset.

With dMix Cloud, users can track the performance of their mixers anywhere in the world and receive instant notifications the moment something requires attention.

Key Benefits

Why dMix Cloud

Benefit 01

Continuous Monitoring

Every dMix mixer securely transmits operational data to the cloud on a user-selectable schedule, giving owners and integrators a live view of system performance without needing to be on site.

Benefit 02

Immediate Alerts

If temperatures rise, power supplies fault, network issues appear or DSP load spikes, dMix Cloud automatically emails alerts to designated recipients so problems are caught before shows or installations fail.

Benefit 03

Simple Setup

The workflow is designed to be frictionless: create a dMix Cloud account, register the device, select an update interval, paste a secure URL into the mixer GUI and run a one-click connection test.

Benefit 04

Install-Ready

Venues, integrators and rental companies can check device status remotely, reduce site visits and improve uptime. Multiple mixers can be grouped under a single cloud dashboard.

Benefit 05

Ecosystem Ready

dMix Cloud is built to support the entire Violet Audio ecosystem including IO modules, stageboxes, processors and future Dante / ST2110 bridge modules.

Benefit 06

Future Proof

Scalable architecture, multi-device support and expanding feature sets make dMix Cloud suitable for long-term deployment in demanding professional environments.

How It Works

From Mixer to Cloud

Step 1

Secure Device Registration

Users create a cloud account with email and password and verify via an email link. They then add a dMix device by:

  • Selecting the model (e.g., dMix128)
  • Entering the serial number
  • Defining alert email recipients
  • Choosing a telemetry update schedule (10s – 5 min)

Once registered, the system generates a unique secure endpoint URL for each device.

Step 2

Direct Mixer–Cloud Link

Inside the dMix128 web GUI, users paste the provided URL and enable Cloud Monitoring. The mixer periodically sends:

  • Internal temperatures (FPGA, analogue board, PSU)
  • PSU status and voltage rails
  • DSP load and fan status / RPM
  • Uptime and active streams (AES67 / ST2110 / Dante)
  • Error flags and protection events

All traffic uses encrypted HTTPS transport.

Step 3

Dashboard & Alerts

The cloud portal provides:

  • Online / offline status and last-seen timestamps
  • Recent telemetry samples and trend graphs
  • Active alerts and firmware information
  • Multi-mixer views per venue or organisation

Incoming telemetry is evaluated against rules (temperature, PSU state, DSP load, network dropouts, hardware errors) and triggers detailed email notifications with recommended actions.

Security

Security-by-Design

dMix Cloud is engineered with security at its core, ensuring that monitoring never compromises system integrity.

  • Fully encrypted HTTPS connections for all telemetry.
  • Per-device access tokens tied to model and serial number.
  • Token revocation when a device is sold or moved.
  • Secure password hashing and optional future 2FA.
  • The cloud rejects unauthenticated data from unknown serial numbers, preventing rogue devices from injecting information.
Operational Confidence.

Users can run a “Test Alarm” at any time to confirm that email alerts are reaching the right people. This makes it easy to validate end-to-end monitoring before an installation goes live.

Applications

Real-World Use Cases

Scenario dMix Cloud Provides
Installations Theatres, churches, schools, clubs and gyms gain remote maintenance visibility, early detection of ventilation or PSU issues and support for long-term service contracts.
Touring Monitor racks and stageboxes remotely, confirm operational readiness before load-in and identify potential issues before they impact a show.
Rental & Inventory Keep track of active mixers across jobs, attach cloud profiles to hire projects and flag faults before gear goes back out on the road.
Broadcast & Corporate AV Manage multi-mixer installations across buildings and integrate with networked audio workflows for mission-critical environments.
Roadmap

Built for Expansion

dMix Cloud is designed to evolve alongside the Violet Audio ecosystem. Planned capabilities include:

  • Real-time stream monitoring for Dante and ST2110.
  • On-site event logs synchronised with cloud history.
  • Remote firmware deployment and rollback.
  • Cloud-based scene and patch backup.

As systems scale, administration remains manageable through structured access control:

  • Integration with building management systems.
  • Multi-user roles such as Admin, Installer, Venue Tech and Guest.
  • Device groups by site, production or client.
Summary

dMix Cloud transforms the dMix128 from a standalone digital mixer into a fully managed, intelligent audio platform. With continuous monitoring, simple setup, scalable architecture and instant alerts, it dramatically improves reliability, reduces service costs and enables next-generation installed audio workflows.
